About UK Online
and MyGuide

Many different organisations make up the UK online centres network. Some are privately owned, others are based in the voluntary or community sector. They include libraries, Surestart centres, Housing Associations, Age UK centres, individual community centres and schools.
What they have in common is a commitment to helping people improve their lives by giving them the skills and confidence to get online.
All UK online centres are based in places where they can work with the people and communities who need them most. More than half are in the 2,000 most deprived areas in England.

They're open at times to suit their communities, with drop-in facilities, classes and even outreach programmes to take technology out to people where they live or work.
All centres run as independent organisations and are funded from several different sources.

The UK online centres team's main function is to co-ordinate the network and provide support, products via myguide, marketing campaigns, training, networking and project opportunities and other funding information to help centre partners run their businesses, help their communities and plan their own sustainability.

There are around 3,500 UK online centres, who can access all of this support, receive weekly newsletters and who have passworded access to key support materials and news on the UK online centres partner pages of this website, LAGAT is a partner centre.
